Ingredients

Dry ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt

Wet ingredients

  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two cake pans.
  • Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla.
  • Alternate adding dry mixture and milk to wet ingredients until combined.
  • Divide batter into pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Cool cakes, then frost with vanilla buttercream before serving.
