gel food coloring (red, pink)
Instructions
Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat butter and sugar until light, then add egg and extracts.
Add dry ingredients in two parts, mix until dough forms. Chill for 1–2 hours.
Preheat oven to 175°C / 350°F. Roll dough to ¼ inch thickness, cut into hearts, and bake for 8–11 minutes.
Prepare icing by mixing powdered sugar, milk, corn syrup, vanilla, and salt. Tint with food coloring.
Pipe outlines and flood centers with icing. Decorate with sprinkles. Let dry completely before stacking.
Notes
Chill dough thoroughly for best results and decorate once cookies are completely dry.
