A rich, gooey brownie baked in a skillet for a decadent treat. Perfect for sharing and customizable with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

Dairy and Oils

  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 oz bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

Sugar and Eggs

  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Dry ingredients

  • 0.5 cup unsweetened natural or Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
  • 0.5 tsp salt

Chocolate Chips

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 2 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided

Instructions 

  • In a saucepan, melt butter, oil, chocolate, and sugar, stirring until smooth (~5 min). Cool for 5 min.
  • Whisk eggs and vanilla into the cooled chocolate mixture.
  • Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt until combined. Fold in 1 cup chocolate chips.
  • Pour batter into a greased 10-inch skillet. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake at 350°F (177°C) for 30–36 min until edges are set and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool for 5 min and serve warm.

Notes

For extra gooeyness, underbake slightly and serve with ice cream or toppings.
