Enjoy flavorful and easy-to-make steak fajitas with colorful peppers and a zesty marinade, all cooked in one skillet for minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 2 lbs beef steak, cut into thin strips (petite sirloin or similar)

Vegetables

  • 1 red bell pepper red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 1 green bell pepper green bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 1 yellow bell pepper yellow bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced

Seasonings & Oils

  • 2 Tbsp canola or avocado oil (or other high smoke point oil)
  • 1 ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder (e.g., McCormick brand)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper

Additional Seasoning

  • 2 Tbsp seasoning blend
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup lime juice, fresh squeezed
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • ½ lime lime juice from half a lime

Instructions 

  • Mix seasoning blend ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Marinate steak with marinade for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
  • Cook peppers and onions in a hot skillet with oil for 5 minutes.
  • Sear steak in the same skillet in batches until cooked through, then combine with veggies.
  • Garnish with cilantro and lime juice, then serve with warm tortillas.

Notes

Use high smoke point oils for best results and marinate for at least 30 minutes for maximum flavor.
