These soft, fluffy dinner rolls are perfect for any meal, made from scratch with active dry yeast and a buttery finish.
Ingredients
Dough

warm milk (105-115°F)
2 1/4
teaspoons
active dry yeast
1/4
cup
granulated sugar

large
egg, room temperature
1/4
cup
unsalted butter, melted

teaspoon
salt

all-purpose flour

tablespoons
melted butter, for brushing
Instructions
Combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 teaspoon sugar; let stand 5-10 min until foamy.
Add remaining sugar, egg, and melted butter; whisk to combine.
Stir in salt and gradually add flour, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead dough 6-8 min until smooth; let rise in oiled bowl 60-90 min until doubled.
Punch down dough, divide into 12 balls, arrange in greased pan, and let rise 30-45 min until puffy.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C); bake rolls 15-20 min until golden. Brush with melted butter and serve warm.
Notes
For softer rolls, let them rise a bit longer before baking.
