A delicious and elegant smoked salmon sandwich featuring herby cream cheese, fresh vegetables, and toasted baguette slices, perfect for a light lunch or brunch.

Ingredients

Bread

  • 0.18 kg demi-baguette (sliced in half vertically, then horizontally, lightly toasted)
  • 1 large Persian cucumber (sliced thinly)
  • 1 cup micro arugula or arugula greens
  • 0.125 cup sprouts (optional)
  • 0.25 cup red onion (thinly sliced)
  • 6-8 ounces sliced smoked salmon
  • a few sprigs fresh dill (optional topping)
  • 0.5 cup whipped cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons crème fraiche
  • 1.5 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 1.5 tablespoons minced chives
  • 0.5 teaspoon lemon zest
  • a small squeeze lemon juice about 1/8 teaspoon
  • pinch salt salt (to taste)
  • pinch black pepper black pepper (to taste)

Instructions 

  • Mix all herby cream cheese ingredients until smooth and well combined.
  • Spread generously on both slices of toasted baguette.
  • Layer cucumber slices, arugula, sprouts, and smoked salmon on the bottom slice.
  • Add red onion, dill, and a squeeze of lemon if desired, then top with the other baguette slice.

Notes

For extra flavor, add more dill or lemon to taste. Serve immediately for best freshness.
