Enjoy homemade pita bread with soft, fluffy texture perfect for sandwiches or dips.
Ingredients
Dough

warm water

Instructions
Mix water, yeast, sugar, salt, olive oil, and 1 cup of flour. Add more flour until dough is soft and slightly sticky. Knead until smooth.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and rest for 40 minutes or refrigerate.
Divide dough into 8 pieces and roll into thin circles.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, lightly oil, and cook pitas for 2 minutes per side until golden.
Remove from pan, keep warm in a towel, and repeat with remaining pitas.
Notes
Leftover pitas can be stored at room temperature for 2-3 days or frozen for longer storage.
