A deliciously easy dessert combining the richness of pecans with a cobbler-style topping, perfect for satisfying sweet cravings.

Ingredients

butter

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)

dry ingredients

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon salt
  • cups white sugar
  • cups milk (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract)

pecans

  • cups chopped pecans

brown sugar

  • cups brown sugar

hot water

  • ½ cup hot water

vanilla ice cream

  • vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour melted butter into a 9x13 dish.
  • Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Whisk in milk and vanilla until smooth.
  • Pour batter over butter, then sprinkle pecans on top. Do not stir.
  • Mix brown sugar with hot water and pour over the pecans. Do not stir.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden. Rest for 15 minutes before serving with ice cream.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
