A delicious and hearty breakfast casserole combining fluffy pancakes and savory sausage.
Ingredients
Batter

buttermilk pancake mix
1
lb
breakfast sausage (bulk or links)

eggs

whole milk
1/2
cup
pure maple syrup

butter (for greasing)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned; drain excess grease.
Mix pancake mix, milk, and eggs in a bowl until just combined.
Fold in half of the maple syrup and some sausage bits.
Pour half the batter into the dish, layer remaining sausage, then top with rest of the batter.
Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
For extra flavor, add spices or cheese to the mixture.
