A quick and flavorful chicken dish cooked in a single skillet with a zesty lemon garlic cream sauce, perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • cup finely diced shallots (or red onions)
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or basil

For Serving

  • Prepared broccolini (for serving)

Instructions 

  • Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet, cook chicken until browned, then set aside.
  • Sauté shallots and garlic until softened.
  • Add chicken broth and lemon juice, scrape browned bits, then simmer with red pepper flakes. Return chicken and cook until done.
  • Stir in butter and heavy cream, simmer until slightly thickened, then return chicken and spoon sauce over.

Notes

Use fresh herbs for the best flavor and serve with steamed broccolini for a complete meal.
