Instructions
Preheat oven to 350℉/180℃. Grease a 9-inch round pan and line with parchment.
Whisk egg yolks with half the sugar until pale. Add vanilla, orange zest, juice, and oil; mix well.
Fold in almond flour and baking powder. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, gradually adding remaining sugar.
Gently fold egg whites into the yolk mixture in parts. Pour batter into pan, remove air bubbles with a skewer.
Sprinkle sliced almonds on top and bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool, then dust with confectioners' sugar if desired.
Notes
Ensure not to overmix the batter to keep the cake light and airy.
