A delightful pastry combining flaky puff pastry with creamy lemon filling, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (thawed)

Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 lemon zest lemon zest
  • 1 cup lemon curd
  • 1 large egg egg
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out pastry and cut into four rectangles.
  • Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest until smooth.
  • Create borders on pastry, spread cream cheese mixture, and top with lemon curd.
  • Brush edges with egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  • Cool briefly and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For a richer flavor, chill the danish before serving.
