Lemon Basil Hummus

A fresh and flavorful hummus made with basil and lemon, perfect for snacking or as a spread.

Ingredients

Main

  • 1 can chickpeas, rinsed (save the liquid)
  • 1 big cup fresh basil leaves
  • 0.25 cup tahini
  • 0.25 cup lemon juice
  • 1 big garlic clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp salt

Instructions 

  • Combine chickpeas, basil, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and salt in a food processor. Don't add olive oil or chickpea water yet.
  • Pulse a few times, then turn on low and slowly pour in olive oil while blending. Add chickpea water gradually until smooth.
  • Taste and adjust salt or lemon if needed.
  • Scoop into a bowl, create a swirl, and drizzle with extra olive oil to serve.

Notes

For a creamier texture, peel the chickpeas before blending.
