Irresistibly Soft Garlic Butter Dinner Roll

These fluffy, buttery dinner rolls infused with garlic and parsley are perfect for any meal or special occasion.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup whole milk (240g), warm (around 110°F)
  • 3 teaspoons active dry yeast or instant yeast
  • cup sugar (70g)
  • 3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (490g)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened at room temperature (85g)
  • 1 egg yolk egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • ¼ cup salted butter (57g)
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1–2 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley

Instructions 

  • Combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  • Add egg, salt, and softened butter; mix well. Gradually add flour to form a soft dough.
  • Knead dough until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes. Let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  • Divide dough into 12 pieces; shape into balls and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix garlic and parsley with melted salted butter.
  • Bake rolls for 15 minutes, then brush with garlic butter mixture and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese on top before baking.
