A flavorful and vibrant dish combining succulent shrimp, toasted sesame bagels, and a spicy chili-lime mayo for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 12 oz large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

Bread

  • 2 slices sesame bagels, sliced

Fruits & Vegetables

  • 3 pcs limes (zest and juice)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup finely shredded cabbage
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh cilantro, plus extra leaves for garnish
  • 1.5 tbsp honey (plus 1/2 tsp for mayo)
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (canola, avocado, or similar)
  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise
  • 1-2 tsp chili-garlic sauce or Sriracha

Spices

  • 0.5 tsp ground cumin
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • to taste salt, pepper, red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions 

  • Pat shrimp dry, then toss with honey, lime juice and zest, garlic, oil, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Marinate 10 minutes.
  • Mix mayonnaise, chili-garlic sauce, lime juice, a little honey, and salt to make chili-lime mayo.
  • Toss shredded cabbage with lime juice, salt, and cilantro to make slaw.
  • Sauté shrimp in a skillet over medium-high heat 2–3 minutes per side until opaque and caramelized.
  • Toast bagels and spread with chili-lime mayo. Layer cabbage slaw, shrimp, cilantro, and lime, then top with the other bagel half.

Notes

For extra flavor, garnish with additional cilantro and a squeeze of lime before serving.
