A hearty and cheesy baked casserole combining ground beef, potatoes, and flavorful cheeses, perfect for a comforting family meal.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4-5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional)

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch dish.
  • Cook ground beef in a skillet with olive oil until browned, then add onion and garlic; cook until soft.
  • Layer cooked beef mixture and sliced potatoes in the dish, seasoning potatoes with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  • Sprinkle cheeses over the beef, pour broth around edges, and drizzle with milk if desired.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake 15-20 minutes until golden and tender.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce or herbs.
