Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin beef

Rice

  • 4 cups cooked short-grain Japanese rice

Sauce

  • 0.25 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sake
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions 

  • Slice the beef and cook the rice.
  • Heat oil in a skillet and stir-fry beef until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Mix soy sauce, sake, mirin, and brown sugar; pour over beef and simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Serve beef over warm rice and garnish with green onions or pickled ginger.
