  • 0.25 cup yellow onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (90% lean)
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.25 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • Pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 medium tomato (diced)
  • 1 cup Iceberg lettuce (shredded)
  • 1 cup Medium cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • to taste Sour cream or yogurt
  • a handful Cilantro
  • as needed Crunchy corn taco shells or soft flour or corn tortillas
  • for garnish Limes (optional)

Instructions 

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet, cook onion until translucent (~3-5 min).
  • Add ground beef and garlic, cook until about 90% done.
  • Stir in spices and cook for 2-3 minutes, then taste and adjust salt.
  • Fill tacos with beef and toppings like lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream, cilantro, and lime.
