A flavorful and elegant cheese log infused with fresh herbs and coated with toasted pecans, perfect for entertaining.

Ingredients

Cheese

  • 1 log soft fresh goat cheese log (may substitute cream cheese)
  • 1.5 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives (or 1.5 teaspoons dried)
  • 1.5 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley (or 1.5 teaspoons dried)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1.5 teaspoons finely chopped fresh oregano leaves (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (or 1/4 teaspoon powder)
  • 1.5 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
  • 0.5 cup finely chopped pecans
  • drizzle olive oil (for drizzling)

Instructions 

  • Mix herbs, lemon zest, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl; stir in cheese until combined.
  • Shape cheese mixture into a log, wrap in plastic, and freeze for 20-30 minutes.
  • Mix pecans with reserved herbs; spread on parchment paper.
  • Remove cheese log from freezer, roll in pecan coating until evenly covered.
  • Let sit at room temperature 15 minutes before serving; drizzle with olive oil.

Notes

Serve with toasted baguette slices or crackers for best presentation.
