A quick and flavorful stir fry combining lean ground turkey, crisp green beans, and aromatic garlic in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

Sauce Mixture

  • 0.25 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Hoisin sauce (found with Asian ingredients)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (divided)
  • 1 lb 99% lean ground turkey breast
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • cup diced shallots
  • 5 medium garlic cloves (thinly sliced)
  • 12 oz raw green beans (trimmed and cut to 1-2” pieces)

Sesame Seeds

  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions 

  • Mix water, vinegar, soy sauce, Hoisin, sugar, cornstarch, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • Heat half the oil in a large pan. Cook turkey until browned, then remove and keep warm.
  • Add remaining oil, shallots, and garlic. Cook until browned. Add green beans and cook 5-6 minutes.
  • Pour sauce into pan, bring to bubbling, then add turkey. Cook 1-2 minutes until heated and sauce thickens. Garnish with sesame seeds.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for best flavor. Adjust red pepper flakes to taste for spice level.
