A hearty and flavorful dish combining tender beef, rice, and a cheesy garlic butter sauce, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 pound ground beef

Grains

  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice

Broth

  • 3 cups low-sodium beef broth

Vegetables

  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

Dairy & Cheese

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup whole milk

Seasonings

  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Herbs

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions 

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  • Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  • Stir in rice, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.
  • Melt remaining butter in a small saucepan, add milk and cheeses, whisk until smooth. Pour sauce into the rice and beef mixture, stir thoroughly.
  • Cook uncovered for 2-3 minutes, then sprinkle with parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a squeeze of lemon before serving.
