Instructions
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
Combine buttermilk and egg, then add to dry ingredients to form a dough.
Heat ΒΌ cup oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry heaping tablespoons of dough until golden, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Drain fried cornbread on paper towels. Repeat with remaining dough, adding remaining oil as needed.
