A rich and creamy pasta dish featuring crispy bacon and savory mushrooms, perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients

uncooked pasta (bucatini)
Bacon

(cut into small pieces)
Mushrooms

cremini mushrooms
(sliced)
Garlic

Broth/Wine

chicken broth or dry white wine
Seasonings

italian seasoning

lemon juice

flour

teaspoon
dijon mustard

heavy/whipping cream
Salt & Pepper

Garnish
freshly grated parmesan cheese and chopped parsley
(for serving (optional))
Instructions
Boil salted water and cook pasta al dente according to package instructions.
Fry bacon in a skillet until crispy, then transfer to a paper towel lined plate.
Add mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes, then stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add broth, Italian seasoning, lemon juice, flour, and Dijon mustard to the pan, stir and cook for about a minute.
Add cream, simmer for 2 minutes, then return mushrooms and bacon to skillet, heat through.
Drain pasta, toss with sauce, season with salt & pepper, and serve with parmesan and parsley if desired.
Notes
If the sauce gets too thick, add a splash of hot pasta water before draining.
