Creamy Bacon and Mushroom Pasta

A rich and creamy pasta dish featuring crispy bacon and savory mushrooms, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 8 ounces uncooked pasta (bucatini)

Bacon

  • 6 strips bacon (cut into small pieces)

Mushrooms

  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)

Garlic

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

Broth/Wine

  • 1/3 cup chicken broth or dry white wine

Seasonings

  • 1/4 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1 cup heavy/whipping cream

Salt & Pepper

  • salt & pepper (to taste)

Garnish

  • freshly grated parmesan cheese and chopped parsley (for serving (optional))

Instructions 

  • Boil salted water and cook pasta al dente according to package instructions.
  • Fry bacon in a skillet until crispy, then transfer to a paper towel lined plate.
  • Add mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes, then stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Add broth, Italian seasoning, lemon juice, flour, and Dijon mustard to the pan, stir and cook for about a minute.
  • Add cream, simmer for 2 minutes, then return mushrooms and bacon to skillet, heat through.
  • Drain pasta, toss with sauce, season with salt & pepper, and serve with parmesan and parsley if desired.

Notes

If the sauce gets too thick, add a splash of hot pasta water before draining.
