A creamy and flavorful pasta dish featuring a rich cream cheese sauce, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 8 oz pasta (penne, fusilli, or your favorite shape)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • 0.25 cup grated parmesan cheese (plus more for serving)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 0.5 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • to taste Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • as needed Reserved pasta water (for thinning sauce)
  • optional Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente; reserve 1 cup of water, then drain.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat; sauté garlic for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add cream cheese, reserved water, parmesan, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper; whisk until smooth.
  • Combine drained pasta with sauce; toss and add more water if needed.
  • Adjust seasoning; serve garnished with extra parmesan and herbs if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add a splash of cream or top with extra herbs.
