A hearty and delicious breakfast casserole combining sausage, eggs, cheese, and bread for a satisfying start to your day.

  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage
  • 6 slices white bread (cubed)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 large eggs eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions 

  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and layer bread, sausage, and cheese.
  • Whisk eggs, milk, mustard, salt, and pepper; pour over layers.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight or at least 4 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C); bake uncovered for 45 minutes.
  • Serve warm; for freezing, cover tightly and freeze up to 3 months.

Notes

For a healthier option, use turkey sausage or low-fat cheese.
