Ingredients

Dry ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder

Wet ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two cake pans.
  • Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla.
  • Alternate adding dry mixture and milk to the wet ingredients until combined.
  • Divide batter into pans and bake for 25–30 minutes. Cool before serving.
