1.5lbGelson’s jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
Kosher salt(to taste)
Freshly ground Gelson’s black pepper(to taste)
0.25cupunsalted butter
0.25cuphoney
3piecescharred lemons, divided
1tsplow-sodium soy sauce
4clovesgarlic, grated
2tspsambal oelek
1tspgrapeseed oil
2Tbspminced green onion, plus more sliced, for garnish
Optional
cooked rice and your favorite vegetable(for serving)
Instructions
Pat shrimp dry, season with salt and pepper. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat until golden and nutty, about 5-7 minutes.
Add honey, juice of ½ charred lemon, soy sauce, garlic, and sambal oelek. Cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Remove most sauce, sear half the shrimp until browned, then transfer to a plate. Repeat with remaining shrimp.
Add cooked shrimp back to pan with sauce and green onions. Cook until sauce thickens, about 2 minutes. Serve over rice and vegetables, garnished with sliced green onions and lemon halves.
Notes
For extra flavor, char the lemons well to enhance their smoky aroma.
