Instructions
Cook onions in olive oil on medium-low until caramelized, about 35-40 minutes, then add balsamic vinegar and cook a few more minutes.
Mix chickpea flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Add water and tamari to the dry mixture, whisk until smooth, then fold in caramelized onions.
Heat vegetable oil in a pan, then drop batter tablespoonfuls and fry until browned on both sides.
Serve with sweet chili sauce and lime wedges or your preferred dipping sauce.
