A flavorful stir-fry featuring tender beef slices coated in a spicy black pepper sauce, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water for thickening)
  • 0.25 cup chopped green onions for garnish
  • to taste salt

Instructions 

  • Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add beef and stir-fry 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Add sliced onion, minced garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Stir-fry 2 minutes until fragrant and softened.
  • Sprinkle black pepper into the skillet. Stir-fry 1 minute to release flavors.
  • Pour in soy sauce, beef broth, and oyster sauce. Bring to a simmer.
  • Return beef to skillet, stir to coat, then add cornstarch slurry. Cook 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  • Sprinkle chopped green onions over the beef. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Notes

Adjust black pepper to taste for spiciness.
