A hearty and comforting breakfast casserole featuring flaky biscuits, savory sausage, and creamy gravy.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough

Meat

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage

Dairy

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (optional, for greasing pan)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • Cut biscuit dough into pieces and layer in the dish.
  • Cook sausage until browned, add flour, then gradually stir in milk to thicken.
  • Pour sausage gravy over biscuits, then add whisked eggs and cheese on top.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until eggs are set and top is golden.

Notes

Let cool for a few minutes before serving for better slicing.
