Delicious crispy nachos topped with seasoned ground beef and melted cheeses, perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Main

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 2 onion onion, finely diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 ounce packet taco seasoning
  • 2 16 ounce bags tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Optional Toppings

  • to taste sliced jalapeños, diced tomatoes, beans, sliced green onions, salsa, sour cream, guacamole

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line baking sheets with parchment.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet, cook onion until softened (~3 min), add garlic and cook 1 min.
  • Add ground beef, cook until browned (~5 min), drain excess fat.
  • Stir in taco seasoning and water, simmer 3 min until liquid evaporates.
  • Spread chips on baking sheets, top with beef and cheese, add optional toppings. Bake 10-15 min until cheese melts.
  • Remove from oven, add fresh toppings, serve with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole.

Notes

For extra flavor, add fresh cilantro or a squeeze of lime before serving.
