A quick and flavorful stir-fry combining tender beef with crisp broccoli in a savory sauce.
Ingredients
Meat
1lbflank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
Vegetables
1lbbroccoli florets, fresh or frozen
Oils & Sauces
2tbspvegetable or avocado oil, divided
6tbsplow-sodium soy sauce
1tbspbrown sugar
1tbspsesame oil
0.5tspblack pepper
1tbspcornstarch
0.5cupwater or broth
Instructions
Slice beef thinly, coat with 1 tsp cornstarch and 1 tsp soy sauce, marinate 15 min. Blanch broccoli 1-2 min, set aside. Whisk sauce ingredients and set aside.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sear beef 1-2 min, stir, cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, add remaining oil, stir-fry broccoli 2-3 min until bright green. Remove and set aside.
Pour sauce into pan, cook 1-2 min until thickened. Return beef and broccoli, toss to coat, simmer 1 min.
Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, add sliced green onions or sesame seeds before serving.
