  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas ((about 3 medium))
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  • Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a large bowl.
  • In another bowl, mix bananas, pumpkin puree, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, stir until just combined, and fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
  • Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for 55-65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean, then cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg or using brown sugar instead of granulated sugar.
